That is a kind of head up Display in drawing view.
It appears when you have your Command Line Palette collapsed
and shows what the command line would show.

A quick search didn't let me find a Setting to avoid that.
Maybe when you set Command Line Setting to show '0' rows ?
    (CLIPROMPTLINES)

    Edit :
    Yes, that seems to work.
You will also no more see Command History in Status Bar,
but when you extend Command Line Palette you can see History
    nevertheless.

    BTW,
    I like the HUD Info.

  • Thanks. That makes sense.

I've used BricsCad for over 6 years but this one stumped me. I just installed v20 and didn't want the prompt lines to go away.

Anyway, if I can get them back all will be good. I'll let you know.

  • Yes. HUD can be good but only if it gives you useful info. What I had was a pain.

Anyway you were dead on right. I found the commands: COMMANDLINEHIDE and its opposite COMMANDLINE.

That fixed my problem. Many thanks.

    Yes,

if you want to use the full Command Line,
    In case it is collapsed,
just double click inside the left part of the Staus Bar and
    Command Line will reappear.
(Showing four Rows of history by default (?))

If you don't like CL, collapse it by double clicking in Staus Bar
or from Menu. If you also don't like Command Line's HUD in Drawing View,
    appearing automatically when CL collapsed,
Set CLIPROMPTLINES to 0 to make HUD disappear.

  • Thanks. I'm trying to get familiar with v20. I've been using v15 a long time.

  • I accidently created this question with the default setting of 'Discussion'. I can't mark it as answered the way I should so . . .

An alternative for the default command line might be the new 'mini frame' option when the command line is in floating state (open, but not docked). This is controlled through the CmdLineUseNewFrame user preference. In this new floating state the command line is reduced to only one line, plus a number of history lines set by the CLIPROMPTLINES system variable. Set the number of lines to zero if you don't like the fading prompt history lines. Click the right hand side of the floating command line to see the command history. The floating command line can be placed anywhere, but 'sticks' to the bottom face of the drawing window. The advantage of the single line floating state over the Status bar is, that the command options in the floating state are clickable.
